Minnesota Farmers Markets
Summer is the best time to hit the farmers markets and enjoy the hot Minnesota weather! This is a great time to pick up ingredients you use often during the season and help prep for those summer gatherings with friends and family. There are many around the Twin Cities that have been open for many years whether you are looking for a variety of produce, vegetables, fruits, flowers and pottery. Below are some I love to highlight!
1. Minneapolis Farmers Market on North Lyndale
Fabulous meat vendors selling beef, pork, salmon & poultry. Farmstead favorites like eggs, wild rice, honey, hummus, jellies, maple syrup & pickles. Starter vegetable plants, perennials, herb gardens, potted arrangements, bedding plants, hanging baskets & cut flowers. Largest variety of vegetables & fruits in the state, plus local bakeries.
Open May-Oct: Daily 6am-1pm. Nov-Feb: Weekends Only
2. Mill City Farmers Market
Located at the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis, Mill City Farmers Market is your trusted source for healthy, local and organic groceries, bringing a wide assortment of fresh food, cooking education and live entertainment to one beautiful space. In addition to healthy local food, MCFM offers free cooking classes, kids and adult education, live music, yoga and much more.
3. Four Sisters Farmers Market
Centering the Indigenous idea that food is community, the Four Sisters farmers market acts as a place to meet, learn, engage, and be in community. The Four Sisters Market restores health, food access, and well-being in the Urban Indian community and the Ventura/ East Phillips neighborhood by recovering knowledge and access to Indigenous food, fresh organic produce, herbal goods, and Indigenous crafts.
Open Thursdays, June 1 to October 26th. 11 AM – 3 PM.
4. Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market
Conveniently located on University & 7th Avenues NE in the parking lot of St. Boniface Church. Emphasis on sustainability & locally grown produce, specialty foods, baked goods, prepared foods, meat, eggs, local arts/craft, cooking demos, live music & kids activities. Handicapped accessible & street parking avail.
Open May 14-Oct 15: Sat 9a-1p.
5. Farmers Market on Rum Anoka
Located every Wednesday at Riverfront Memorial Park. Fresh produce to cottage foods and farmstead products, the market will offer a variety of goods to purchase for your weekly menus and more!
Open Wednesdays, 3-7pm, from June-September
