Coon Rapids
In this video of one of the best twin cities suburbs, I am going to take you on a tour of Coon Rapids. Located to the north of the Twin Cities, this town has plenty of activities to keep you busy, including a nature center and an abundance of trails to explore. I have been living in this Minneapolis neighborhood for at least 10 years and enjoy all of the natural areas available.

Another attraction we love is the Coon Rapids Dam. It is a large, regional park in Coon Rapids and is a popular destination for those who like to fish or bike on the trails. A seven-mile loop is available if you want to go for a hike or bike ride, as well as a playground and parks throughout this area. Sand Creek Park is also a favorite spot of ours because of the many little league fields available and Riverview Park. The Big Lily Complex can also be found here, where tennis courts and skating rinks are available. Another excellent park is Lions Park, which was remodeled last year.

If spending time in nature is not really your thing, Riverdale, a local shopping area, can also be found in Coon Rapids. It’s an outdoor-style mall that has a lot to offer serious shoppers. Aside from all of the activities in this beautiful town are the homes. Many of the houses in this area are built in the late 1960s or 1970s, are one-story, and most likely have a detached garage. There are also plenty of split entry-style homes and are typically priced in the upper $200,000s, possibly the low $300,000s. This is definitely an affordable location if you are interested in living in Minnesota without overspending.
This area also has an exceptional school in the Hennepin School District, which is part of the NOCCA. The school district has received an average rating, but we have been very happy with the education our children have received. The high school offers numerous electives and athletics to its students, having something to offer everyone. The Fountains is a newer area where homes typically range between $400,000 and $500,000. It is an upscale location where most of the homes were built between 10 and 20 years ago. It is located next to Bunker Hills Golf Course and other surrounding communities.
